Virginia Russell founded Russell Consulting, where she and her team offer training, coaching, and organization development services to a wide variety of organizations including Fortune 500 corporations, financial and law firms, as well as non-profits. Some of the clients worked with include: The New York Stock Exchange, JPMorgan Chase, MTA New York City Transit, NY Presbyterian Hospital, New York Weil Cornell Medical Center, Shearman & Sterling, Weil Gotshal & Manges, Colgate PalmoliveAmerican Cancer Society, Marymount College, Baruch College, and Hedgeop Compliance

She is also a Personal Branding Expert, Career Transition and Management Coach, Instructional Designer, and Author of the book - “Stand Out – A Woman’s Guide to Creating Your Personal Brand for Today’s Job Market". Her background includes working for a well-known outplacement firm where out of 100+ consultants, she ranked at the top for number of candidates, both male and female, landing new positions -- and was known for her excellence in helping women combat job search discrimination due to ageism. She also spent three years at Chase in their Career Services Center coaching both men and women candidates. Having personally coached women at various organizations in Leadership, Communications, Interpersonal Skills, Emotional Intelligence, Political Savvy, Team Building, and Professional Presence, skills critical to the success of women today, led to developing the "7 Critical Relationships That Make or Break a Woman's Career" ® training and coaching program.

As the former Marketing and Training Director for the New York Corporate Training Division of Career Education Corporation, Ms. Russell created and marketed off-the-shelf and customized training programs.  She sponsored and hosted client luncheons and acted as a media spokesperson for the division appearing on CNNfn and Good Day New York.  She has been featured in print in The New York Times, Crain’s New York Business, The Stamford Advocate and various trade publications. Earlier in her career she founded the nonprofit Careers Don't Just Happen, Inc., and with a grant from the Legg's Company presented career workshops for the public in various venues including the Mid Manhattan Library. She also published the newsletter New York Career Woman News.

Ms. Russell holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development with a Minor in Counseling and Career Development from the State University of New York.  Studies included the Career Development theories of John Holland, Albert Bandura and Donald Super. Professional study includes programs in Organization Development, Group Dynamics, Team Building, Curriculum Design and Train the Trainer.  She is a certified user of a variety of assessment instruments. Ms. Russell completed her professional certified coaching training at Coaches Certification Institute. She has completed Board Leadership Training at the Junior League and Interim Executive Director training at the Support Center for Non-profits.  She served in the past on the board of Barnard's Business and Professional Women's Association.  She is a former consultant for the Friends of the Children of Cambodia and fundraiser for Orphans’ Futures Alliance non-profit organizations, as well as volunteer English tutor for students at the English Speaking Uni on. She resides in New York City where  you might find her visiting one of the museums she holds a membership in, taking advantage of the many cultural and educational events the city has to offer, biking and walking in Central Park, or standing behind a mic singing one of her favorite songs.
